Before your procedure:

Avoid sun exposure, sun-tanning, and self-tanning creams for at least 4 weeks.

Use spf 15 (or greater) sun block daily for 4 weeks.

Do not take Accutane (isoretinoin) for at least 6 months prior to the procedure.

Discontinue usage of all products containing Retin-A at 2 weeks prior to procedure.

If you have a history of herpes labialis (cold sore), let the office know. You will require pre-treatment with an antiviral medication.

If you have problems with dark discoloration (hyperpigmentation) or have darker base-line skin tone, you may require pre-treatment with a bleaching agent such as hydroquinone.

Skin should be kept clean on the day of the procedure: Do not apply make up or creams to the skin.

Wear loose fitting clothing or shirts that fasten in the front to your procedure.
